Toshiba Launches Chromebook 2
Toshiba today announced its second generation Chromebooks. Featuring an all-new sleek design that houses a 13-inch display in a compact 12-inch chassis, Toshiba’s Chromebook 2 delivers a Chromebook experience that’s tuned for entertainment, while providing versatile performance and fantastic battery life for productivity seekers.
Toshiba will offer two versions of its Chromebook 2 – an entry model with a standard HD display and a premium model featuring a brilliant Full HD (1920 x 1080) display with IPS technology. Both models feature a sound system tuned by Skullcandy that delivers audio with attacking bass, natural vocals and precision highs and sets a new bar for Chromebooks.

Bright Full HD IPS Display
Take in more of the web, watch movies and videos with the utmost clarity or simply get a broader view of documents and presentations on Toshiba’s premium model offering a 13.3-inch diagonal screen with a native 1920x1080 resolution. In-plane switching (IPS) technology delivers enhanced color reproduction and accuracy, plus wider, more accurate viewing capabilities.
Progressive Design
Toshiba’s Chromebook 2 features an all-new chassis design with sleek curves and a slim profile. Topped with a silver textured resin lid on the outside and comfortable Chrome keyboard and spacious touchpad on the inside, the device also features a fanless design for quiet operation. To pump up the style even more, Toshiba will also offer color cases in Charcoal, Aqua and Rose as an add-on.

Supreme Sound by Skullcandy
The first Chromebook to deliver a branded audio experience, Toshiba’s device features strategically placed front-facing stereo speakers that have been tuned to bring quality and attitude by the audio experts at Skullcandy, a leading audio headphone provider and lifestyle brand. On-board dual array microphones are also included to enable rich video chats.

Smooth Performance, Ultra-fast Wi-Fi, Great Battery Life
Powered by the latest generation Intel Celeron processor, equipped with 802.11ac wireless connectivity and available with 2GB and 4GB memory configurations, Toshiba’s Chromebook 2 delivers smooth performance and fast web browsing. With battery life capability of up to 11.5 hours on the HD model and up to 9 hours on the Full HD model, consumers and students will enjoy greater unplugged freedom.
Equipped with essential ports and features, including an HD webcam, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, HDMI output, SD Card slot, and a security lock slot, Toshiba’s Chromebook 2 gives consumers and students the flexibility they need.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing for Toshiba’s Chromebook 2 devices ranges from $249.99 - $329.99 MSRP, with U.S. retail availability beginning on October 5.
