Acer Offers TravelMate B115 With 11.6-Inch Multi-Touch HD Display For $380 USD
Slim and powerful with long battery life, Acer America today announced the availability of the new TravelMate B115 notebook PC for customers in the United States and Canada. Thin and affordable with 10-point multi-touch support, this model is perfect for commercial customers, particularly those in education who will appreciate its full feature set, thin and light design, and great price.

Offering up to 10 hours of battery life, the TravelMate B115 provides up to a full day of computing, a significant benefit for users in education, since classrooms often have few outlets available. This model provides solid performance with an Intel Celeron N2940 processor, 500GB storage and 4GB of RAM expandable to 8GB. It’s also pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows 8.1.
The TravelMate B115 delivers crisp images and superb presentations via an 11.6-inch Acer ComfyView LCD LED backlit display with a HD (1366x768) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The display’s “ComfyView” anti-glare matte surface reduces mirror-like reflections and improves viewing in bright light.
Ultra-slim at just under one inch thin and three pounds, the TravelMate B115 easily fits in student’s backpacks and messenger bags. Despite its compact size, it has a full-size keyboard with large keys enabling comfortable typing.

It also offers 10-point multi-touch for taking full advantage of the intuitive touch functionality of the Windows 8.1 operating system, an advantage when working with online text books, maps, photos and presentations. In addition, the integrated Precision Touchpad supports two-finger scrolling and pinching, swiping across charms and application commands.
The TravelMate B115 attaches to external displays via HDMI and connects to networks via Intel Centrino© Advanced –N 7260. It’s also compatible with a wide range of peripherals and digital devices via Bluetooth© 4.0, a fast USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports. The high-def webcam (1280 x 780) with 720p audio/video recording and a built-in microphone provide high-quality video conferencing for continuing the learning process outside the classroom.
Security And Manageability
The Acer TravelMate B115 comes with powerful security and management software enabling educators and IT managers to safeguard valuable data and oversee IT assets remotely. Acer ProShield Manager is a practical suite of security and management tools within a single unified interface. Acer ProShield prevents unauthorized access while protecting valuable assets and data integrity. Featuring pre-boot authentication, it protects the notebook from the BIOS level all the way to the application level. Users can create a Personal Secure Drive (PSD) to seamlessly store and encrypt all critical files, ensuring that if the notebook is lost or stolen, the data can’t be accessed. In addition, a File Shredder utility lets users permanently remove unwanted files or folders beyond recovery.
Acer Backup provides another layer of security by backing up valuable data, media and other digital assets, while Acer eRecovery Manager enables on-demand recovery. The TravelMate B115 also comes with Acer Office Manager, a manageability solution, which allows IT managers to deploy security policies, monitor IT assets, and schedule maintenance tasks in one simple application.
