Asus X450 and X550 Notebooks: Intel Core i7 and NVIDIA GeForce 700

ASUS today announced the new X Series notebooks with powerful Intel Core i7 processors and high-performance NVIDIA GeForce 700 Series graphics. The 14-inch X450 and 15-inch X550 both feature a slim profile with a sophisticated ‘spun finish’ available in five colors — eye-catching red or blue, cool white, and matte or gloss grey.

Smooth And Responsive Intel Core Performance

The new ASUS X Series is powered by a choice of Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce 700 Series graphics for smooth and responsive multi-tasking performance. Both models also feature ASUS Super Hybrid Engine II for a two-second ‘instant-on’ time from sleep mode, and up to two weeks standby time, with automatic save-to-disk data protection once the battery level drops below 5%.

NVIDIA GeForce 700 Series graphics with Optimus technology automatically optimizes graphics performance for best results and greater battery life. Optimus switches seamlessly and instantly between energy-efficient integrated graphics and high-performance discrete graphics as required, for a ‘best of both worlds’ balance of battery life.

The new ASUS X Series features exclusive ASUS technology for superior sound and image quality. The new ASUS X Series features large touchpads with ASUS Smart Gesture technology for easy multi-touch control with Windows 8. Both models also feature ASUS IceCool Technology that uses a unique internal component layout to keep palm-rest temperatures between 28 and 35 degrees Celsius, ensuring cool and comfortable typing.
