Toshiba Enhances Laptops Featuring Windows 8
Toshiba today announced its Windows 8-optimized Ultrabook™ systems and new Satellite® S955 laptops. The Satellite U845W and new Satellite U945 Ultrabook systems pair Intel's latest mobile technologies with Toshiba's unique hardware designs to offer everyday entertainment and productivity in highly portable form factors. The new Satellite S955 laptop is about 35 percent thinner than the previous generation, while continuing to deliver smart performance and sensational styling.

Satellite U845W Ultrabook: Widescreen Entertainment and Premium Performance
The Satellite U845W is the first Ultrabook to feature a 14.4-inch diagonal ultrawide-HD TruBrite® display with a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio. The widescreen display provides an approximately 30 percent greater view of tiles on the Windows 8 Start Screen and is also ideal for snapping Windows 8 apps to the classic desktop interface, giving users more desktop space to work, while still enjoying live content. Equipped with 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processors with Intel Rapid Start technology, the Satellite U845W is built to handle performance-intensive tasks on the go or at home, resuming from sleep in seconds. Satellite U945: An Everyday Ultrabook
The Satellite U945 Ultrabook is a more affordably-priced Ultrabook for everyday productivity and entertainment. Weighing less than four pounds and measuring less than 0.8 inches thin, it offers all the performance of a conventional PC but with slimmer styling and less Weight. Featuring a 14-inch diagonal HD TruBrite display, the Satellite U945 is encased in a textured Fusion® Lattice finish in Ice Blue and includes a spacious ClickPad with Windows 8 gesture support. Powered by 3rd generation Intel Core processors, fast DDR3 1600MHz memory and a generous 500GB hard drive with 32GB solid state drive cache, the Ultrabook offers extremely responsive performance and resumes from sleep in seconds. The Satellite U945 also includes stereo speakers with SRS Premium Sound 3D sound enhancements, an HD webcam and can be configured with an optional LED backlit keyboard.
