Samsung And Computer 2000 Grow Relationship With Additional Mobile Computer Range
London, 18 December 2007, Samsung Electronics UK Ltd, a world leader in IT equipment, has today announced the addition of Computer 2000 to its authorised distributor list for all Samsung IT products. Computer 2000 has signed a deal with Samsung which will see it selling mobile computer products alongside its existing Samsung print and display product range. The addition of Computer 2000 brings the total number of Samsung mobile computing distributors to four (Computer 2000, Micro Peripherals, Westcoast and Interface Solutions).
Computer 2000 has signed a deal with Samsung which will see it selling mobile computer products alongside its existing Samsung print and display product range.
Samsung’s partnership with Computer 2000 gives resellers the opportunity to increase their revenues through sales of Samsung’s broad and unique range of mobile computers, which span a range of different price points. It also offers resellers the possibility of receiving joint marketing funds of up to 7.5 per cent to support sales of the Samsung mobile computer range. As a direct result of the partnership with Computer 2000, Samsung has already signed another 22 resellers to its Power Partner Programme.
This move is a further step in Samsung’s strategy to strengthen its reseller focus. This follows the company’s investment in additional staff that are dedicated to supporting sales of mobile computer products. This increase in channel activity, accompanied by a strong range of new mobile computer products, has enabled Samsung to achieve more than 100 per cent growth in this particular market, for units shipped and overall revenue in 2007. Early estimates predict that this will increase again by over 50 per cent in 2008.
Samsung has had proven success with its mobile computer product ranges, including the Q series of ultra-mobile laptops for business users and has won numerous awards for functionality and price. It has also recently identified new opportunities in the education sector with its leading Ultra-Mobile PC (UMPC) product, putting it in a position to open up this channel to its resellers too.
In 2007 Samsung launched a co-branding programme and a major ATL and online advertising campaign. As an authorised distributor, Computer 2000 will have access to co-marketing tools available from Samsung and will be associated with the manufacturing quality and design excellence that is synonymous with the brand.
Phil Brown, General Manager for Samsung’s Mobile Computer division, commented: “The addition of Computer 2000 to the Samsung authorised distributor network demonstrates the commitment of both parties to the channel. Having this fourth distributor onboard has cemented Samsung’s long-term distribution strategy in the UK, allowing us to focus wholly on providing the best levels of service and products. We are sure that this partnership will glean great results for Samsung and Computer 2000 alike.”
