Verizon And HP Introduce First Notebook PCs To Use Verizon 4G LTE Network
From the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Verizon Wireless and HP today announced the industry’s first notebook PCs to use the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network – the HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr Notebook PC and the Compaq CQ10-688nr.
Taking full advantage of the improved bandwidth and low latency of the Verizon 4G LTE network, the new HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr and Compaq CQ10-688nr are expected to provide blazing fast online experiences. Customers can expect download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps in 4G Mobile Broadband coverage areas. The HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr allows customers to stream high-definition (HD) (1) content, play games, video chat, and download music, photos and videos all within seconds rather than minutes. Small, slim and stylish, the Compaq CQ10-688nr allows users to stay connected and access their music, photos and files on the go.

The HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr combines the performance of a notebook with the mobility of a netbook. Measuring less than 1-inch thin, the 11.6-inch HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr includes HP CoolSense Technology, which combines advanced hardware and intelligent cooling software for a notebook that feels noticeably cooler. Customers can watch HD content in smooth 1080p for a full HD (1) viewing experience. The HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr includes the latest VISION Technology from AMD – powered by an AMD Fusion Accelerated Processing Unit, which integrates a Microsoft® DirectX 11 capable graphics processing unit into the main processor.
With up to 9.5 hours of battery life(2) and 320 gigabytes (GB) (3) of storage, the HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr includes a full-size, island-style keyboard, multi-format digital media card reader, HDMI port, Dolby Advanced Audio and GPS for mapping and navigation(4).

The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network, launched in December 2010, is the fastest, most advanced 4G network in the United States, providing speeds up to 10 times faster than Verizon Wireless’ 3G network. Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network currently reaches one-third of all Americans, with plans to expand the network to the company’s entire 3G coverage area over the next three years.
The HP Pavilion dm1-3010nr Notebook PC and HP Compaq CQ10-688nr will be on display at CES in Verizon Wireless’ booth (#35216 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center).
(1) HD content is required to view HD images.
(2) Battery life will vary depending on the product model, configuration, loaded applications, features, use, wireless functionality and power management settings. The maximum capacity of the battery will naturally decrease with time and usage. See MobileMark07 battery benchmark www.bapco.com/products/mobilemark2007 for additional details.
(3) Actual formatted capacity is less. A portion of the hard drive is reserved for system recovery software — for notebooks up to: 20 GB (Windows® 7), 8 GB (XP and XP Pro), 12 GB (Vista®, 12 GB (MCE); for desktops up to: 14 GB (Windows 7), 10 GB (Vista, XP, XP Pro), 12 GB (MCE). For hard drives, 1 GB = 1 billion bytes.
(4) GPS access requires an unobstructed path to multiple satellites. Performance may be affected if used inside of buildings, bridges or heavily congested metropolitan areas. Additionally, GPS requires HP Mobile Broadband and HP Connection Manager, both of which are provided by HP as part of the factory image. Broadband service sold separately, check with provider for coverage and availability.
